About Our Music Ministry

Music is such an important ministry to the Cordova Bay United community of faith. There are many opportunities for everyone to share their gifts. From choir, to the Contemporary Band, the Fab Five Quintet, various soloists and guest musicians, all are welcome to share in “making a joyful noise.”

Choir

If you love to sing, then the Choir is the place for you. This is a fun-loving group of people sharing their gift of singing.

The choir currently has 24 members who sing anthems and lead the singing at the Sunday morning service. The Choir practices every Thursday at 3 pm, except during the summer. The Choir welcomes everyone who wants to sing.

Band

If playing music is your thing, then the CBUC Band might just be right for you. The Band plays during special occasions. There are presently 10 members who play everything from the standup bass to the clarinet. Have a musical instrument but haven’t played in years? Don’t worry, the CBUC Band welcomes everyone. Rehearsals are TBA and is directed by Glenn Parsons.

Guest Musicians

Cordova Bay United is truly blessed to have an abundance of professional musicians in the congregation. Several times a month, these musicians play the prelude, postlude or centring music. Occasionally, we are treated to a professional musician from the community of Victoria, such as vocalists, flautists, a trumpeter, a bag-piper and on one Sunday a lute player.
