Pastor Elizabeth (Beth) Parsons

Minister of Worship and Congregational Life

Beth comes to us from London, Ontario, where she served in both rural and urban pastoral charges for over 18 years.

She arrived in August 2022 to serve Cordova Bay United church as the supply minister. Beth accepted the position as Cordova Bay’s full-time minister with the congregation beginning in August 2023.

When not busy at the church, Beth and her husband Glenn enjoy hiking with the dogs, canoeing and enjoying the beauty of Vancouver Island.

She is excited and humbled to be given the opportunity to serve Cordova Bay as together, we celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Praise the Lord!

Sing to the Lord a new song,

Sharon has found it a real joy worshipping with the folks at Cordova Bay United since starting as Music Director August of 2022. Worship has been central to Sharon's life, and she is grateful for once again having the privilege of leading people in praise and worship of God.

Sharon was a public health nurse and Lactation Consultant for many years before retiring and moving to Sidney. For most of that career she also played and / or directed church music on the side. She and her husband, Mark, are happy to be realizing a dream of living on the Island, and happy to be close to their daughter and her family now. Their son, Scott, also lives here now, in a suite in their home.

Sharon notes she and Mark are glad to have found such a warm and welcoming community here at CBUC. The choir has been a special blessing, bringing passion and experience and commitment to beautify its singing. Her hope and prayer is that through song the choir and congregation will be able to use their deepest being to speak with God, bringing the message of the Good News from ears and minds down into hearts.

Moira Dennis

My name is Moira Dennis. I feel blessed to be able to work with the Spirit Kids Sunday School at CBUC. We are having fun learning about Jesus' love for us and how we can share it with others. I have 35 years experience teaching children in Public schools in Alberta and BC. My hobbies are Art and spending time with my two granddaughters.
